It wasn't meant to be so, but it was so! Grandma and Grandpa Reitz came into town to see the girls and help celebrate. We sure had a fun-packed weekend (especially me.)
First thing Saturday, we hit the zoo.
It was one of the best zoo days ever! The heat and humidity were low, the crowds were (somehow) low, and we saw lots of animals!
In true zoo-day fashion, we enjoyed Seamus burgers afterwards in Dogtown and went home (very full) to recover.
I took the big girls for a dip in the Laurel Park pool to work on some strokes and then Jason took me out for dinner...
OR SO I THOUGHT.
SURPRISE to ME.
Jason helped my good friend Carla throw me a surprise birthday party! WHAT?! I know! I felt like a teenager! :)
(PS- I probably would have showered after the pool had I known I was going to a party...)
With my party-planning extraordinaire amiga
I was so surprised and had such a nice evening hanging out with so many of my friends here (some old and some new). Well done, Carla and Jay!
Phew! Are you sick of me? I am! And we're not even done yet.
I woke up on Sunday to this beautiful sign made by Berkley. Isn't it fantastic?
Since we (and by we, I mean Hazel) slept too late to make it to early church, we used our extra time to take a bunch of pictures!
(Did you notice Hazel's dress is different? She managed to cover the first in yogurt, milk, and dirt before 9am.)
We had a yummy brunch with Peg and Steve before they headed back to Michigan.
And the whole family came to my Summer League lacrosse game, where I got to pathetically (but enjoyably) play! I think the real reason they all came was because we got to eat Racanelli's pizza afterwards!
We squeezed in some late night ice cream cake and called it a day!
(Smiles this big are usually reserved for the anticipation of sweets!)
What a great weekend! (And great friends and family!) Geesh! I think I had my fill of birthday celebrations to last a few years! (guess I'll have to skip the next few...)
