Yellowstone or Bust

This was the girls' first camping trip and I think they're thirsty for more.

All packed up and ready to go.

There are bald eagles in that nest!

Not the best campsite (note the close proximity of the bathrooms in the background)...but it was okay for two nights.

"helping" daddy set up the tent. (He was ready to forgo the help after a few minutes.)

Very excited to sleep in a tent.

No zoom on this one. He was that close to the road.

Trying to roast marshmallows over our sad excuse for a fire. The rain did us in.

We made it through the night! (But found out in the morning that a bison was 10 feet from our tent during the night. He left us a "treat" that Charlotte stepped in.)

The rangers gave out these homemade hats to all the campers. At first, I thought there was just a really big family there, all with similar hats. haha.

Breakfast of champions: oatmeal, thanks to the propane stove.

Berkley's fairy house

Off to check out some geysers and other cool thermal deals.

Boiling pools. Pretty cool.

These fountain paint pots were rad. Yeah, I said rad. They were.

HERE WE GO OLD FAITHFUL!

Thar' she blows!

These are the (Kepler) Cascades. I can't remember the name, but they were really pretty.

Our hike to the "fairy falls."
I don't know about you, but I don't see no fairies...and I don't see no falls...

Bison and their babies

Again, no zoom on this one.

Elk with new antlers

Downtime at camp

Jason. make. fire.

back from finding better marshmallow sticks

And even time to play a little Fancy Nancy board game.

On Friday, we packed up and headed to Jenna and Willie's in Sun Valley for a short visit.
It's always fun to see them!

Charlotte loves the doggies, Cash (above) and June.

Thanks for letting us visit (and shower!)

I think your camping trip was about 60 degrees colder than the one we took last weekend! It looks like FUN. Hardly recognize Charlotte without pigtails :)
