Yesterday was the last meet of the season - the City Championship.
Here's Charlotte with Tegan and Elizabeth before their race.
It was a chilly, muddy morning, but the running was good.
Charlotte pushed herself and came in 4th! She gave up third with just 20 feet to go. It made her so mad, she said, but I think she's still ok with 4th. What a fun season she had!
Berkley's race was the last one of the day. At least the sun had warmed things up a little by then.
With Ella Rose, Annalise, and Bradie
Berkley pushed herself hard. She had a little mental battle to deal with too because this was the SAME course as the first meet of the year -- the one where she was tripped, got a cramp, walked, and was just desperate all over . This was a great moment of redemption, and to top it all off, she finally figured out the whole "sprint at the end" thing. She had always THOUGHT she was sprinting, but this time, she actually DID. She even caught a girl right at the finish line. We haven't heard what place she came in yet. But it doesn't matter -- she is darn proud of that finish. She said to me this morning, "I don't think I'll ever forget that race." Precious. Makes my heart swell.
