For those of you who don't know, our wonderful little school here at St. Paul had to close this summer. Enrollment was just too low, so Berkley started first grade today at a new school: St. Joseph Catholic School.
Here she is in her new uniform all ready to go.
Giving her sister a good luck kiss
See that lunchbox? It's hard for me to accept that she'll be at school ALL DAY LONG. In fact, I'm having a very hard time with that this morning. I left the school in tears, nervous for my little girl. I could tell she was nervous herself, so much so that she was stiff and could barely say goodbye. She had that deer-caught-in-headlights look. I guess that's part of watching your kids grow up; you can't always be there to make sure everything goes well. They have to figure some of it out themselves. Man, it's hard to let go! Geesh, see, I'm in tears again.
Goodbye, bug! Have a GREAT day!
(Please send prayers her way!)
