"Camping" and Dad's Day

Brace yourself; I have a lot to say this time.
The church had a little camping trip/outdoor worship this weekend. It was pretty cool, but very EXHAUSTING.
I have to say, don't go camping for only one night. By the time you plan, pack, haul, and set up, it's really worth your while to stay longer than the amount of time it took to get ready! We headed up to Anderson Cove - a campground only 20 minutes away - on Saturday afternoon and headed home Sunday afternoon. PHEW. To summarize: We had a group site for church folks, cooked out together, ate smores together, sang songs with guitar (and flute) together, chit chatted, worshipped on Sunday, played in the freezing water breifly, and headed home.

Enjoying s'mores.
Jason preparing communion for worship Sunday morning (which took place on the other side of our tent!)
We love camp.

Oh, yes, and in the midst of it all, HAPPY FATHER'S DAY to a truly.great.dad.

The girls took a minute of Jay's sermon prep time to give him gifts and lots of love.

And after worship, whitey here (see below) took the girls in the frigid water. (The resevoir is filled with snow runoff from the mountains. Brrrrr.) What a good daddy...and on Father's Day to boot. I think he did it for me...you think he's white; no one needs to see the glowing white moon that is my belly these days!

Babies Wyatt and Hudson made their debut at the beach. Sand is a curious thing. And hi Armani.

Okay, I had to include this picture. This is Charlotte's side of the mat. We were tearing down camp and saw these sizable rocks under her pillow. I asked her about them and she was indignant that I save them. She was keeping them under her pillow so she wouldn't lose them. They are for her fairy house back at home. Nice! That couldn't have been comfortable.
And, while I'm at it, Happy Father's Day to two other great dads: dad Kjendal and dad Reitz. We love you and miss you out here. Wouldn't it be fun to camp together someday??
