Theives

We got robbed. Can you believe it? Someone came into our house 2 days ago and stole everything worth anything. Our new TV, laptop, camcorder, camera, and my jewelry box with every piece of jewelry I own...except for one pair of studs and a digital watch.

It's just amazing how violated we feel when someone we don't know goes through our underwear drawer. Empties keepsake boxes. Steals things that mean something to me...like emerald earrings from my dad...a bracelet from my honeymoon in Hawaii...a bracelet with my girls' infant pictures on them...ALL our digital pictures...our video recording of the girls at Easter and other cute episodes over the last 4 months...

Berkley took it really hard. She cried for hours. She felt so sad that someone would actually take mommy's jewelry...and take the TV she watches her movies on...and take the camera...and the jewelry box she gave me (with Jason and Charlie) for my birthday last year...and the bracelet with her picture on it...and all my earring (that she was looking forward to borrowing when she "was a grown up".) She shed tears (of relief) that they left her new Easter present - a jewelry tree - alone! Sweet innocence. What a tender 4-year-old.

CSI was here to take fingerprints and look for clues. It doesn't look promising, but it was cool to have them dust our bedroom for prints...

Anyway, don't count on any pictures for a while...
