After a rocky start (she refused to play in the first game; just sat on the sidelines and cried), Hazel has embraced soccer!
Charlotte continues to love it.
How Celia and Hazel kill the time until their game.
And Hazel's:
The Bobcat Shuffle 5K 2014
Berkley represented the Reitzes all by her lonesome. It was a chilly morning, but she had fun.
Back at soccer again:
It's really fun to watch Charlotte grow as a player. She's fierce!
And really fun to watch Hazel start to get into it. She scored twice in this game! She was psyched.
She just looked at me after the second one and held up two fingers. Didn't say anything. Just gave me that "look." How does a 4-year-old know how to give that "look"? Oh boy.
And back to cross country.
Both girls had a good season. Charlotte was very consistent, coming in 2nd or 3rd at every meet. The same girl always came in first and Charlotte and her teammate traded off for 2nd and 3rd. That was a new challenge for her: dealing with a teammate who could beat her. Let the mental games begin! (and, yes, that's her crazy coach following along the flagline.)
Berkley moved up to the 5th-6th grade race like a champ. She didn't seem to mind the extra mileage and learned to sprint the end!
{hazel and her buddy and cohort Will}
Look at that sprint!
CITY MEET:
I usually only get pictures of Charlotte and forget to take them of Berkley. This meet was not so. Lots of Berkley!
Berkley ran hard her last race and came in 4th. Her best of the season! She was excited!
Phew! And we're done with another season of Cross Country!
