Races

October 12 was our City Championship for Cross Country. Both girls had very good races, running their best times on that course.  Charlotte came in 6th for k-2nd and Berkley came in 8th for 3-4!  Good run, ladies.

Unfortunately, this is the only picture I took - just before the first race of the day. As coach, I didn't have a chance! Too many kids to cheer on!

 A week later, Zion held a small 5K/mini mile race as a fundraiser. I was reffing lacrosse back east, so Jason got the girls there and cheered them on. Charlotte ran the mini-mile and did great. It was a COOOOOLD morning, if you can't tell from her face! She doesn't look happy to be starting out, but warmed right up once she got rolling.

Berkley ran her first 5K.  She did great! Only 2 other grade school kids beat her - both boys. Her time was somewhere in the 28 minute range and she ran the whole way!

 And the weekend after that (last weekend), I ran a half marathon in downtown St. Louis. IT was a chilly morning for me as well, but it was a really nice run. I was happily surprised to see my family cheering around mile 9.
